I have a Riding Appointment
Then we were sitting in a treeeee, Kay Eye Ess Ess Eye In Gee-ing. Then came love and then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.
And for the next 5 years, we didn't ride.
There was no time for it. And the baby and the husband came first.
But we never forgot about our first passion, the one that caught our imagination before adulting put a reality check on everything.
Now the kids and the husband is on automatic pilot, and we really could make time for the horses again. But somehow it became something that nobody takes serious. Even though it is the one thing that we enjoy the most. The husband thinks riding time is crazy, the kids just want us to come visit so we can baby sit the kids, and we... we let them all take that priority right out of our lives.
However... when we way "I have a doctors appointment on Monday", all the folks in our lives stop everything so we can go. Even for a hair or nail appointment, everyone in our lives agrees that those time slots are important.
Riding is still the funnest thing I can do with my time. Much more important to me than any doctors or salon visits. As I talk to women across this beautiful nation, they all agree. They miss their riding time.
